Biography

The main objective of our research is to understand the molecular mechanisms that coordinately regulate gene expression and contribute to the pathogenesis of heart failure. Within this theme we are studying the function of epigenetics and non-coding RNAs in proliferation, differentiation, and maturation of myocytes and how alteration of these interlinked processes eventually leads to cardiac dysfunction and failure.

We mainly focus on the following areas in context of cardiomyopathies and heart failure

  • Epigenetics
  • Non-coding RNA
