Biography

Dr. Hassan Saad received his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He subsequently completed a research fellowship at the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute followed by neurosurgical residency training at Emory University School of Medicine, where he developed a focused interest in spine surgery through advanced subspecialty training. He then completed a dedicated spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Saad joined UTHealth Houston as assistant professor of neurosurgery in 2026.

He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to spinal deformity, trauma, tumors, and complex reconstruction, as well as minimally invasive spine surgery.

Fluent in English and Arabic, Dr. Saad is an ad hoc reviewer for Neurosurgery, Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Operative Neurosurgery.

Dr. Saad is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and complex spine surgery. His clinical interests include cervical and lumbar degenerative disease, spinal deformity, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, revision spine surgery, and sacroiliac joint disorders.

He is committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care with an emphasis on shared decision-making. He strives to tailor treatment plans to each patient’s goals and believes in using the least invasive treatment necessary to restore function, relieve pain, and improve quality of life.
