Visiting Professor Lecture Series
The Department of Neurological Surgery Visiting Professor Lecture Series features prominent figures in the neurological surgery field providing talks on their specialty. Several times a year, the department invites one of these experts to visit the Residency Program. Guests typically have dinner with the residents, give a Grand Rounds lecture on Thursday morning and continue with 3-hour educational session where the residents can talk with the guest in a more intimate setting.
Curriculum Conference
Led by Dr. Blackburn, residents will prepare and review all aspects of neurosurgical knowledge and evidence. Covered in two year cycles (each topic is reviewed once every two years), each resident will have completed each cycle three times by graduation. There is a comprehensive list of review questions to be asked (and answered with resident and attending participation). Also in attendance will be our physician assistants, medical students, and nurse practitioners.
