COVID-19 Patient Screening

We continue to see our patients and perform procedures with a cautious and controlled approach emphasizing social distancing practices and meticulous hygiene to minimize the spread of COVID-19. These policies are based on guidelines mandated by the Texas Medical Board and local healthcare authorities.

  • Upon entry to the clinic, all patients and visitors will be asked exposure-related questions and have their temperature taken. If there is positive exposure or a fever, you will be asked to contact your doctor and receive appropriate clearance prior to having your appointment rescheduled at least two weeks in the future.
  • It is strongly recommended that patients and visitors wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer upon entry to the clinic.
  • If you develop signs and symptoms of respiratory illness at any time between now and your scheduled appointment, please contact your doctor for appropriate screening measures. We kindly ask that you provide us with clearance from your doctor or a health care provider prior to rescheduling your appointment.

This is an evolving situation and we will keep you abreast of changes to the screening protocol or any other developments as they are available. Please see the below links for more information from the CDC about COVID-19 and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) for its guidance on eye care during this outbreak.
