Biography

Dr. Karfunkle is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at McGovern Medical School where he completed a year of post graduate training in Clinical Ultrasound. Now he works with Dr. Gordon as Associate Fellowship Director for the Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship, develops software tools for quality assurance and quality improvement for point of care ultrasound use in our Emergency Departments, and teaches ultrasound use in McGovern Medical School’s first and second year Doctoring course.

Dr. Karfunkle was not always a doctor. In past lives he was an actuary, prep cook, and karaoke host. He still enjoys running, video games, cycling, and chasing his children.
