Biography

Bentley J. Bobrow, MD FACEP is Professor and Chair and John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Distinguished Chair of Emergency Medicine. He is focused on improving outcomes for major public health problems including out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic brain injury, acute stroke, substance abuse, and behavioral health emergencies. He has partnered with 9-1-1 centers, EMS agencies, municipal fire departments, hospitals, university researchers, and the public to implement and measure systems of care for effectively responding to these emergencies. Dr. Bobrow is a past Chair of the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Subcommittee, a co-author of the Institutes of Medicine Report on Cardiac Arrest, and has collaborated to launch the Texas-Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) Program.
