Biography

Dr. Jacqueline Okere is a hospitalist with the Department of Emergency Medicine. She works out of Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center and also serves as a medical consultant at Memorial Hermann TIRR. She spends time educating and working with residents, medical students, and APPs while in the inpatient wards at these locations. She is the clerkship director for the 4th year medical student hospitalist elective (APC 4111), the director for the resident hospitalist elective, and spends time creating educational content and enhancing these rotations. She is also the Vice Chair for Health Equity for the Department of Emergency Medicine and has created a curriculum to educate the department on these issues. She has a passion for improving patient outcomes and health care disparities in underserved populations which sparked her interest in Health Equity and as a result, she also spends a great deal of time volunteering outside of work.
