Theresa Tran, MD, MBA, FACEP is a board-certified emergency physician with expertise in health policy and management. She serves as the UT Health Associate Vice President for Clinical Population Health and Advocacy; School of Public Health Assistant Dean for Clinical Population Health and Advocacy; Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health (MPACH); and Assistant Professor in the McGovern Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Tran has special interest in leveraging direct frontline representation to inform system policy and management decisions for improved community health outcomes. Prior to joining UT Health, Dr. Tran served as the Program Director for the Baylor College of Medicine MD/MBA program, Assistant Medical Director at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Government Relations Chair for the Texas College of Emergency Physicians. She is actively involved in the Houston community and organized medicine groups in Texas. Dr. Tran completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, a masters of business administration at Rice University, and emergency medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. Most recently, she was named one of the Top 25 under 45 Influencers in Emergency Medicine by the Emergency Medicine Residents Association.
