Our SHPEP Intraosseous Line insertion + Intubation Workshop was a Success!

Last Friday, EM’s Hilary Fairbrother, MD, MPH along with a team of talented Residents & Students hosted an educational workshop at UTHealth Houston-McGovern’s Skills Center as part of the Summer Health Professionals Education Program (SHPEP).

SHPEP is a prestigious, free summer program designed to inspire and empower underrepresented students interested in pursuing careers in the field of healthcare. The program takes place at (12) partner institutions and offers students a unique opportunity to:

During this engaging workshop, our EM team facilitated a hands-on learning experience focusing on intraosseous line insertion + intubation techniques. Participants had the chance to enhance their practical skills and gain valuable insights into these critical medical procedures.
