Welcome Dr. Kris Lehnhardt: Leading the Future of Space Medicine at UTHealth Houston!

We’re excited to announce that  Kris Lehnhardt, MD has joined our team as the new Director of the Space Medicine program and as a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine!

Dr. Lehnhardt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to UTHealth Houston, thanks to his extensive background in space medicine and his contributions to NASA and other space exploration organizations.

In his new role, Dr. Lehnhardt will lead efforts to advance the Space Medicine Program, focusing on training the next generation of leaders in space and extreme environment healthcare. He will also play a pivotal role in fostering collaborations and driving innovations to tackle the unique medical challenges astronauts and researchers face in space exploration.

Dr. Lehnhardt’s leadership promises to expand the program’s influence both on Earth and beyond!
