Congratulations to Ryan Johnson (PGY-2), for being awarded Best Research in the State of Texas by the Texas College of Emergency Physicians (TCEP) for his analysis of cost-saving strategies from implementing a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) protocol at Memorial Hermann-TMC. His work highlights the value of evidence-based care in improving both patient outcomes and health system efficiency.
In addition to this impressive achievement, Ryan was also elected to serve as the Resident Member of the TCEP Board of Directors for 2025–2026. This role offers a unique opportunity to represent resident voices in statewide emergency medicine advocacy, leadership, and education.
We’d also like to recognize and congratulate Abbey Pasterolle (PGY-2), who was also nominated for the TCEP Resident Board Member position. We are incredibly proud of both Ryan and Abbey for stepping up and representing our department so well on a statewide level. Thank you both for your leadership, and for continuing to make UTHealth Emergency Medicine proud!
