Second Look Season: Thank You to Our Visiting Applicants!

Our EM Residency program was proud to welcome applicants back to campus for this year’s Second Look events. It was a pleasure hosting so many impressive future physicians and giving them another opportunity to experience us firsthand.

Second Looks are a meaningful opportunity for applicants to spend extra time with residents, faculty, and our administrative team, ask thoughtful questions, and gain a deeper sense of the supportive environment that defines our program. Equally important, these visits allow us to learn more about each applicant and the goals they hope to pursue in emergency medicine.

From conversations about curriculum and mentorship to informal moments connecting with current residents, the visit helps bring the residency experience into focus in a way that interviews alone cannot. We appreciate the time, energy, and enthusiasm each applicant brought with them during their visit!

As Match approaches, we recognize this is an exciting and sometimes uncertain period for applicants across the country. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to return, engage with our team, and consider our program as part of their future training journey.

We can’t wait to welcome our new interns into the UTHealth EM family – where the coffee is strong, the people are even better, and between the resident lounge and faculty lounge, there’s always an abundance of snacks to keep you fueled for the next patient!
