Amee Amin, MD CMQ

Biography

Amee Amin, MD, FHM, CMQ is an Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Medicine Hospitalist Division and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She also serves as the Case Management Medical Director at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center, where she leads systemwide initiatives focused on quality, patient flow, sepsis care, and utilization management.

Dr. Amin is board-certified in Internal Medicine and recognized with the Certificate in Medical Quality. She completed her residency and chief residency at Scripps Clinic Green Hospital before joining Memorial Hermann in 2014, where she has been instrumental in advancing hospital medicine through clinical innovation, operational leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration. A committed educator, Dr. Amin has received multiple Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards and has played key roles in residency curriculum development, quality improvement training, and intern orientation programs across several specialties.

Regionally and nationally, Dr. Amin has held leadership roles within the Society of Hospital Medicine, including serving as President of the Houston Chapter and contributing to the National Chapter Support Committee. Her academic interests include sepsis care, throughput optimization, transitions of care, clinical documentation improvement, and point-of-care ultrasound. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences on hospital medicine operations, quality improvement, and medical education.

Dr. Amin cares for hospitalized adults at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center, with a continued emphasis on improving systems of care, advancing quality, and supporting the next generation of physicians.
