Advancing Critical Care Skills: EM APPs Participate in FCCS Training

Our APP team recently participated in the Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) course at Memorial Hermann-TMC (external link), gaining hands-on experience through cadaver and skills labs while strengthening their approach to early critical care management.

The FCCS course provides healthcare professionals with training focused on the recognition, stabilization, and management of critically ill patients during the first 24 hours of care.

As part of the course, members of the Emergency Medicine APP group participated in both cadaver lab and skills lab experiences, allowing for hands-on learning and practical application in a critical care setting.

Opportunities like this help reinforce procedural skills, strengthen clinical confidence, and support the team’s continued growth in caring for high-acuity patients.
