Biography

Dr. Robert Hayden will join the Department of Emergency Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston as an Assistant Professor in May 2026. He currently serves as an Attending Physician in Hospital Medicine at Baptist Jacksonville, where he provides care for complex inpatient populations with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, patient-centered management and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Hayden earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/JFK Medical Center. He has demonstrated a consistent commitment to quality improvement and patient safety, with patient satisfaction scores in the top percentile.

An engaged educator, Dr. Hayden is passionate about teaching and mentorship, supporting learners across all levels of training. He also remains active in volunteer efforts aimed at improving access to care in underserved communities. Outside of medicine, he enjoys health and fitness and spending time with his dog.
