Biography

Dr. Samuel Hong will join UTHealth Houston as an academic hospitalist at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center following completion of his Internal Medicine residency in June 2026. His clinical training spans a wide range of care settings, including tertiary care, safety-net hospitals, Veterans Affairs systems, and oncology centers, with experience across multiple intensive care units and general medicine services.

Dr. Hong earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Emory University, where his research resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications, including nationally recognized work honored by the National Academy of Sciences.

His professional interests include high-value inpatient care, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Hong is committed to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care while contributing to academic hospital medicine through education, clinical excellence, and systems-based improvement initiatives.
