The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) at McGovern Medical School is a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional care to acutely ill and injured children while advancing the field through research, innovation, and education.

Located within Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital—one of the busiest Level 1 pediatric trauma centers in the nation—our division is at the forefront of pediatric emergency care in the Texas Medical Center.

We are proud to serve a diverse and high-acuity patient population with access to every pediatric subspecialty, including dedicated PICU, NICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, and the region’s only pediatric burn program.

• Research & Scholarly Activity: Our division actively contributes to the advancement of emergency medicine through robust clinical research supported by dedicated coordinators, statisticians, and grant staff.
• Ultrasound Training: We collaborate closely with our Ultrasound Division to expand the use of bedside point-of-care ultrasound in pediatric care.
• Community and Prehospital Integration: Our physicians engage in EMS training and operations, including with Houston Fire Department and Memorial Hermann Life Flight, as well as community practice at Memorial Hermann Katy.
