Visiting Student Stipend Program

The Department of Emergency Medicine Residency Program in conjunction with the Office of GME is proud to offer a visiting student stipend program for medical students on visiting rotations. This opportunity is open for application to all applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing and advocating for equitable outcomes in health care. We will be offering two stipends with funding support of $1,000 each.

Application Requirements

The visiting student stipend program is open to all applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing and advocating for equitable outcomes in health care. This includes but is not limited to activities with established national/regional/local organizations, volunteer work, and academic/research pursuits. Other qualifications to be considered include the applicant’s success in overcoming or helping others to overcome barriers as well as first generation medical school students. Applicants of any race/ethnicity may apply and are eligible.

Applications are due by March 25, 2024 at 5PM (CST). You will be notified by March 30th if you are conditionally accepted to the rotation WITH stipend support. If accepted, this is a conditional acceptance, and all applications must be submitted through VSLO for final institutional approval beginning on April 1.
