Biography

Dr. Walia is an Assistant Professor at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health and Science Center at Houston in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency from Johns Hopkins Hospital and Master’s in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a concentration in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She is the clinical medical director for the Houston Emergency Opioid Management System (HEROES Program). Her current focus in academic Emergency Medicine involves providing sustainable healthcare in underserved countries and international clinical emergency response, as well as resident and faculty wellness and community service.
