Food Allergy Outcomes Related to White and African American Racial Differences (FORWARD)

In collaboration with the FORWARD group (external link), our team participates in a prospective, multisite, NIH-funded study focused on pediatric food allergies and atopic diseases. With over 1,500 children enrolled across four partner sites in the U.S., the study examines the natural history of food allergies and related conditions, including asthma and eczema. Our research explores how the gut and skin microbiomes contribute to allergy onset, persistence, and resolution, along with racial and ethnic disparities in allergy outcomes, to help improve care for children across diverse populations
