The 2022 TEACH-S Educational Symposium, which centered on “The Power of the Learning Environment,” was held on May 12. Presenters gave talks, offered workshops, and shared posters.

Sarah Syed, MD, a 2022 McGovern Medical School graduate, placed third in the poster competition for “Implementation of a Narrative Medicine and Reflection Workshop Series in the Clinical Years.” The poster related to the Narratives of Illness and Healing series, sponsored by the McGovern Center and developed by Syed with support from faculty member, Renee Flores, MD, MHSA, FACP. During the year, medical students met monthly in small groups to read, reflect, and share their writings on various themes.

The Narratives of Illness and Healing series will resume in the 2022-2023 academic year, under the direction of a new group of medical students.
