Mission
- Provide cutting edge medical care to individuals affected by AT
- Perform state-of-the art research addressing the most critical and pertinent questions regarding the mechanisms of neurological dysfunction in Ataxia-Telangiectasia (AT)
- Translate basic science research findings into clinical therapies
- Educate medical professionals and the community about AT
Focus
- Primary and sub-specialty physicians working collaboratively to provide complete medical care for AT patients thus improving overall health and quality of life for AT patients
- The AT research center will spearhead a focused effort in performing basic and translational research aimed at treating the neurological outcomes of AT, which currently remain untreatable
- Enhance the already excellent reputation of both the medical school and the hospital by attracting patients from both a local and national patient pool
- Obtain basic science and clinical research funding. Research grants will enhance the research reputation of both institutions and also provide overhead.
- Provide outstanding and unique opportunities for teaching graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows.
