Patricia Svolos received her PhD in Medical Physics from the University of Thessaly in Greece in 2013. She completed her diagnostic imaging physics residency at Henry Ford Health, Michigan in 2018, and joined the imaging physics team at UTHealth McGovern Medical School the same year. Her graduate research work focused on brain tumor differentiation using MR diffusion and perfusion weighted imaging. Patricia serves as the assistant program director for diagnostic physics at the UTHealth McGovern medical physics residency program. She is an active member of the AAPM, working in committees focused in residency education and training, as well as medical physics education at a national and international level. Patricia also volunteers with RAD-AID International and serves as the Program Manager for diagnostic imaging under RAD-AID’s medical physics program. The focus of her global outreach activities, is didactic education and training in medical physics to ensure safe practices in radiology and implementation of image quality assurance programs.
