Research
The Neuroradiology section is continuously working on developing the necessary infrastructure to conduct novel clinical research projects. In addition, to ensuring that there is research opportunities available to medical students, residents and fellows. The following are resources that our fellows utilize when conducting research:
- Two Clinical Research Associates who support all clinical research and activities: Including but not limited to collecting, processing, organizing, and summarizing data as well as designing protocols for research projects, analyzing data and interpreting the results, writing IRB and grants, and publishing abstracts and articles.
- Facilities/Equipment:
- Office is located in room (J2.255), located on the second floor of Jones in Memorial Hermann Hospital-TMC. Office has 4 work stations with phone lines and computers, three file cabinets and storage lockers and one working rotating office.
- One windows computer connected to MHH-TMC network with direct PACS access
- Three windows computers connected to UTHealth network
- High-end computing technology via two robust Mac computers with server capabilities connected to UTHealth network
- Windows and Mac-based DICOM viewers and post-processing software installed on terminal stations such as OsiriX MD, Horos, DTI studio, RadiAnt, FreeSurfer, TeraRecon, MicroDICOM, 3D Slicer, etc.
- Capability of utilizing web-based software such as MRIcloud and volBrain.
- In-house server connected to Ambra Health which is a Medical Image Cloud. It allows the computer stations to receive de-identified images from Memorial Herman System and other outside healthcare sites upon IRB approvals.
