Tina Chacko was born and raised in Houston, TX. After spending her formative years here in town, she decided to pursue training as a Physician Assistant at USP and PCOM in Philadelphia, PA. Upon returning to Houston, Tina started her career in the Emergency Department. Tina has been able to be a part of the growth and expansion of the APCs from a handful of providers to over 50 talented PAs and NPs at both Lyndon B. Johnson and Memorial Hermann Hospital TMC. In those years, she has been actively involved in the growth and development of the APC group for the emergency department. In 2019, Tina was awarded the Physician Assistant of the Year Award by the UTHealth Emergency Department. She then stepped into the role of Co-Director of the Advanced Practice Clinicians for the UTHealth Department of Emergency Medicine in 2020.
Tina is excited to be part of UTHealth Houston’s new adventure of creating urgent care clinics to better serve the Houston community. She has been intricately involved with the strategic and operational set up of the urgent care clinic and will oversee the operational and administrative tasks at the clinic locations. In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
