Biography

Dr. Thomas developed his interest in academic emergency medicine during his residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, Jacksonville.  After gaining experience in various hospital systems, he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Emergency Medicine residency program where he continues to focus on resident and medical student education.  During his time at UT, Dr. Thomas created and coordinated the Intern Lecture Series, and regularly lectures medical students rotating through the Emergency Medicine Clerkship. His areas of interest include quality assurance & compliance for patient care in the emergency department, airway emergencies, and clinical/procedural skills (for which he has won awards for clinical excellence).
