10/09/2023

Through a Global Health Equity grant from the China Medical Board Foundation, a few of our esteemed Emergency Medicine Faculty and Residents from UTHealth Houston traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam to teach Excellence in Prehospital Injury Care (EPIC)-Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

As part of our UTEM Global Health section and in collaboration with the Hanoi University Medical Center, Drs.’ Omoyeni Clement, Sullivan Hanback, Theresa Tran, and Shabana Walia integrated didactic and simulation-based teaching on the management of TBI for more than (50) physicians and residents with training in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care! Their journey concluded in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, where they taught and participated in the 2023 Conference of the Vietnamese Society of Emergency Medicine (VSEM).

Moving forward, they hope to foster ongoing partnerships with our esteemed colleagues in Vietnam, with the shared objective of enhancing the quality of care provided to those affected by traumatic brain injuries.
