Given the recent power outages across Houston, Dr. Bakunas emphasized the importance of finding a cooler environment to stay safe. She suggested visiting places like malls, movie theaters, libraries, and the several cooling centers available around the city. Staying hydrated with water and avoiding sugary or alcoholic beverages are also essential steps to prevent heat-related illnesses.
