The panel, moderated by Toufeeq Ahmed Syed, PhD, Dean of AI and Machine Learning at UTHealth Houston’s School of Biomedical Informatics, explored the evolving role of artificial intelligence in health science education.

Dr. Sheraton’s presentation, Development of an Evidence-Based AI Literacy Program for Health Science Faculty, underscored the critical need for AI literacy among faculty as technology continues to transform clinical practice, research, and education. His initiative, built on a multi-school survey, aims to develop a structured curriculum that equips faculty with essential AI skills while addressing ethical, legal, and practical considerations.

Key objectives of the program include:
