We are proud to be part of collaborative work recently featured by McGovern Medical School‘s Office of Communications, highlighting efforts to improve care for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
This research connects basic science and clinical practice, with teams of investigators studying how ARDS develops at a cellular level and exploring strategies that could guide treatment.
Findings from the laboratory have helped identify key pathways involved in lung injury, inflammation, and fluid accumulation, which can contribute to more targeted interventions. By combining these insights with bedside observations, the project aims to inform clinical decisions and optimize patient management in critical care settings.
The collaboration reflects EM’s ongoing role in advancing knowledge that can directly impact patient care, improve outcomes, and support evidence-based approaches in emergency and critical care medicine.
