EM Faculty and Residents from our department recently attended the ACEP25 conference in Salt Lake City, UT. The team engaged in a variety of educational and networking opportunities while also enjoying time together outside of sessions, including a group hike in the surrounding mountains.
One of the standout moments of the conference was Ben Cooper, MD, MEd dynamic presentation on EKGs, delivered to a packed audience of more than 250+.
As a key architect of our Stampede course, now used by UTHealth learners as well as programs nationwide, Dr. Cooper brought that same expertise to the national stage, exemplifying our department’s commitment to advancing emergency medicine education.
In addition to faculty contributions, our residents were active participants throughout the conference – attending sessions, engaging in discussions, and connecting with colleagues from across the country. Their involvement demonstrated their drive for professional growth and their role as strong representatives of our department.
Outside of the conference halls, the group also enjoyed a hike in the Salt Lake City mountains, taking time to recharge and build camaraderie.
Balancing learning with time outdoors shows how our department grows future emergency medicine leaders and builds a supportive community!
