As part of the symposium, Kha Dinh, MD, FCCP, E-AEC, delivered a presentation titled “Developing an ECPR Program,” sharing lessons learned both in the hospital and in pre-hospital settings. The UTHealth team also had the opportunity to learn from Demetris Yannopoulos, MD,  an international expert in cardiac care and extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR).

Additionally, Richard Witkov, MD, E-AEC, and Nick Villalobos, MD, represented UTHealth Houston by managing the Mobile ECMO Unit at the 2nd Annual Houston Shock Run & Walk, educating attendees about the program and its unique contributions to critical care and patient outcomes.

As always, a special thank you to the Wyatt Ranches for making this work possible through their generous donation of the ECMO 1 unit. Their support continues to open new opportunities for our institution – expanding collaboration, increasing our ability to impact more lives, and advancing the future of ECMO care.
