Byron Harrison, Sr., Lic-P, MEd, BS, EMS-C

Captain Byron Harrison, Sr. worked 31 years with Houston Fire Department (HFD) as a paramedic and EMS Supervisor with over 40 years of EMS service overall.

His years in EMS began as a volunteer in Tomball, TX, as an EMT, progressing to paramedic certification and licensing in 1986. He has a Bachelors of Science from UT San Antonio Health Science Center in Emergency Health Sciences, a Master of Education from Western Governor University, and has instructor credentials in AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS, affiliate faculty with ITLS, and is a Tx DSHS EMS Advanced Coordinator.

Capt. Harrison has been an EMS educator since 1990 on staff at several Houston area colleges, and as EMS Training Officer for HFD from 2005-2010. He joined the UT HEALTH Houston MSTU staff in September 2022.
