CORE

core logo

The UTH EM CORE program focuses on empowering our communities and equipping them with knowledge about a variety of emergency preparedness topics. The current primary focus lies in CPR and AED training, with a goal to improve bystander CPR and AED use in neighborhoods with historically low rates-many of which are also in lower-socioeconomic areas and are at higher risk for poor health outcomes.

Through the grant-funded Community Health Initiated Research Project, UTH EM CORE has partnered with the City of Houston and YMCA of Greater Houston to provide hands-only CPR and AED training at various community sites.
