David J. Robinson, MD MS FACEP graduated from Albany Medical College in 1993 and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency from the University of Maryland (1996) and a research fellowship (1998) where he designed and published on Chest Pain Observation Centers. He is a founding Member of the Society of Chest Pain Providers, and been an Active Participant of the American College of Emergency Physician’s section on Short Term Observation Services, where he served as the section Chair from 2001-3. He is presently Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Vice Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the University of Texas, Medical School at Houston. He serves as Medical Director and the Chief of Emergency Medicine Services at the Lyndon B Johnson General Hospital in Houston Texas.
His research focus is on Observation Medicine, ED Work Activity and Process flow, Medical Errors research, Simulation in Virtual Environments, and Medical Informatics.
