Melissa Pearson is a nurse practitioner working with the University of Texas internal medicine team at TIRR to help manage the complicated medical problems of patients and provide night-time coverage for rapid response and code situations. She is proud to be a part of this world-renowned rehabilitation team. Melissa has 16 years of nursing experience in Canada and the United States working in a variety of positions and settings. During her career Melissa has worked as a registered nurse on various inpatient medical and surgical units, assistant manager of an orthopedic clinic, regional planning leader for mental health and addictions, and spent thirteen years working in the emergency department as both a registered nurse and charge nurse. Melissa is a triple board-certified adult-gerontology acute care, emergency, and family nurse practitioner. She completed a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and is currently enrolled in their Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
