Speaker Presentation Information

  • All presenters with slides are welcome to use their own laptops if they wish (PC or Mac).
  • While the prior presenter is at the podium, and in order to avoid wasted time in transition, presenters will be asked to join the moderator table to connect to the switch box and be ready to go to the podium and present as soon as the previous lecture finishes.
  • If you do not wish to use your own laptop, bring your presentation on a thumb drive and give it to the AV staff at least 2 hours before your lecture.

Things to Do in Houston

You’ll find there’s something for everyone in Houston. Home to NASA and the Houston Space Center, Houston is well known for its contributions to advancements in space and science. In more recent years, Houston has also become a foodie destination. Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the U.S., and that is well represented in the restaurants and food trucks around the city. One of the largest medical centers in the world rests in the heart of Houston as well, bringing visitors from all over to get treatment here. Locals will also boast that Houston has the best Livestock Show and Rodeo around. Go to visithoustontexas.com to discover some must-see stops that you won’t want to miss.

Of interest specifically to medical professionals, our guests may enjoy a visit to the DeBakey Library and Museum, at 6450 E Cullen Street. This institution chronicles the life of the pioneering heart surgeon Michael E. DeBakey, the father of modern cardiovascular surgery.
