The Language of Caring

Stories like these continue to inspire us towards excellence in emergency care, resuscitation and cardiac arrest management – but also serve to remind us of our department, hospital and discipline’s unique opportunity to change our patients’ lives for the better.

The Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to have been selected as “early adopters” of a unique, evidence-based program supporting our team’s delivery of humane, equitable, and uplifting care. Led by Dr. Samuel Prater, various department members will begin participation in a 12-month program called the Language of Caring to build our community’s culture of caring and to equip individual members with the communication skills to make their caring intentional, visible and effective.
