Going Beyond the Data: Using Testimonies to Humanize Pedagogy on Black Health,” is the title of a recent paper by Keisha Ray, PhD. Appearing in the Journal of Medical Humanities, Ray proposes in the article a new approach to health professions pedagogy by using experiential race testimonies (ERT) to change how health professions learners understand and treat Black patients. ERT pairs analysis of population data with personal testimonies and experiences.
