The first issue of McGovern Medicine, a new online publication by McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, was released this June. The McGovern Center was featured. In the piece, the Center’s leadership and transition from founding director Thomas Cole, PhD, to Reverend Nathan Carlin, PhD, November 1, 2021, was discussed, as were several of our programs and initiatives. These included the Arts & Resilience Program and Medical Humanities Scholarly Concentration as well as two new ones: a one-year Residents Certificate Program in Humanities and Ethics, and the forthcoming Writing Fellows.

Also shared in McGovern Medicine as part of the Faculty Bookshelf section were Cole’s Old Man Country and No Color Is My Kind, and Reverend Carlin’s Contemporary Physician-Authors.
