Didactic Curriculum

The resident clinical experience is enhanced by a robust didactic curriculum that is based on the Council for Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) Educational Objectives. The curriculum includes protected time on Tuesday afternoons for obstetrics, gynecology, and specialty conferences. There is also a variety of hands-on anatomy labs and surgical skills labs that are conducted jointly with the LBJ program. Prior to the annual national Ob/Gyn residency training in-service exam, there is an intensive review course.

Goals and Objectives clearly delineate learning expectations in each competency that are expected on each rotation.

There is a monthly reading assignment designed to add to our residents’ fund of knowledge based on obstetric and gynecologic core topics. There are also hands-on laparoscopy and robotic surgery courses that our residents are required to attend during their training.
