Sexual Medicine Fellowship in Urology
This Clinical Fellowship focuses on developing proficiency in the surgical and medical management of patients with sexual dysfunction. The fellow will be trained on the study and implementation of a) principles of risk factors, epidemiology, anatomy and physiology, b) diagnostic techniques, c) medical approaches to management and d) surgical approaches. In addition, candidates are expected to acquire analytical abilities to critically evaluate peer reviewed research and understand the principles of scientific method, study design and protocol development. More specifically, the fellow will learn how to diagnose and treat erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, Peyronie’s disease, hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in men, soft glans syndrome, anorgasmia, penile pain, post finasteride syndrome (PFS), androgen deficiency, priapism with on label and off label therapies. The emphasis for this fellowship will be on performing penile prosthesis implantation surgery and be proficient to manage the complex penile implantation cases and to learn penile reconstructive surgeries including surgeries for complex Peyronie’s disease.
