Dr. George Williams Elected the 2022 Texas Society of Anesthesiologists President

May 24, 2022

Congratulations to Dr. George Williams, who was recently elected as the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists (TSA) President Elect.

Dr. George Williams

He will being his active presidency in September 2022.  His focus as a society is to reinforce practices in large and small groups, to have concrete and long standing initiatives that can reinforce and support the academic programs, and to increase the presence and multi organizations that he’ll be working with over this next year.

He plans to serve TSA by focusing on three key prongs; to represent the views of physicians and physicians of anesthesiology, reinforce the knowledge creation and research to the teaching academics of anesthesiology, and the strengthening of the organization itself both from an interaction standpoint and a logistical standpoint to meet the needs for the state of Texas.

One very important issue to Dr. Williams is medical payments for Medicaid services.  “Whether you’re a large group or small group, we want to make sure that everyone is in a position to take care of a trauma patient that comes in the door, or a patient that comes in that doesn’t have resources.  We’re an active society and we really try to aggressively represent the positions that protect patients and practices,” said Dr. Williams.

Dr. Williams would like to thank all of the mentors that he’s had over the past 11 years.  One especially being Dr. Evan Pivalizza, 2019-2020 TSA President, who was instrumental to him in getting engaged with the Texas side of things.

Dr. Williams, is making himself freely available from August 2022-July 2023 (with the exception of November and December) to come and speak to any anesthesiology group across the state of Texas either in person (or virtually if preferred) to provide an update regarding the priorities, activities, and member benefits of the TSA. He wants groups to know how the TSA is working for them and how they can contribute to that work and protecting our patients.

If you are interested in having Dr. Williams come to your hospital/practice, please reach out to the TSA Office by email at [email protected], or phone at 512-370-1659, or via text to 512-370-1657 to schedule his visit.
