Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital (Critical Care Medicine)

Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital (MHSW) is a 425-bed hospital located in southwest Houston. It is the second largest hospital in the nationally recognized Memorial Hermann system and offers a comprehensive array of services. The hospital also caters to one of the most diverse populations in Houston, including the medically underserved neighborhoods of southwest Houston in accepting transfers for higher level of care outside the greater Houston area.

In addition to the critical care fellowship, MHSW currently supports  anesthesia residents and family practice residents. MHSW ICU is a 54-bed ICU and is comprised of medical, surgical, neurosurgical, and cardiovascular critically ill patients. The ICU has a very high acuity level and is one of the busiest in Houston.

The intensivists are a close group of board-certified anesthesia intensivists and pulmonologists who provide 24/7 in-house coverage. The ICU team is led by the intensivist and includes critical care fellows, nurse practitioners, residents, dieticians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists. Our program offers a unique exposure to the medical intensive care patients. It is our goal to train expert practitioners in critical care medicine who can function in any intensive care unit.
