General Anesthesiology – Lyndon B. Johnson

Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital is a 207 licensed bed acute care hospital located on the northeast side of Houston. It is the busiest Level III Trauma Center in the state with more than 80,000 emergency patient visits each year and a distinguished regional center for neonatal intensive care for high-risk deliveries. LBJ is part of the Harris Health System, a fully integrated healthcare system that ensures access to quality, affordable healthcare for all residents of Harris County, Texas.

Utilizing state of the art equipment and techniques, we provide anesthesia services for general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, plastic surgery, OMF, ENT, ophthalmology, and vascular/thoracic surgery, as well as gastroenterology and interventional radiology procedures. Our Acute Pain Management Service provides the latest in regional anesthesia interventions to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.

In addition, our group of Obstetric Anesthesiologists manages an active Labor and Delivery service, 2,500 deliveries per year, while remaining at the forefront of evidence based protocols and resident education.

The comprehensive perioperative care of LBJ patients begins in our pre-operative screening clinic. With an emphasis on patient engagement and optimization prior to surgery, we work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure essential procedures occur with minimal delay.

Working as an inter-professional team with Harris Health, we are able to achieve the mission of McGovern Medical School — the highest quality education, the highest quality research, and exemplary clinical services.
