Announcement for the Division Director of Quality and Process Improvement
Congratulations to Dr. Hwong who was appointed as the Director for Quality and Process Improvement for the Division of Critical Care Medicine effective April 1, 2022. Dr. Hwong completed a the UT System CS&E course while a resident at UTSW has been an active contributor to quality effort improvement in critical care medicine since joining the faculty at McGovern Medical School. Some of Dr. Hwong’s quality projects include the development of the Patient Archive and Perioperative Handoff Registry Utensil for SICU (of PAPHRUS), and the co-creation of the Perioperative Resource Overflow ICU in order to address ICU patients in the Main OR PACU at Memorial Hermann.
Dr. Hwong will be coordinating his efforts with Dr. Sridhar in order to meet and exceed our department’s and partnering institutions goals for quality and patient safety in the ICUs staffed by our department. Congratulations Ray!
