New Interim Director of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Rebecca Scholl has graciously accepted the position of Interim Director of Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesia effective September 1, 2023.  A much-valued addition to our team, Dr. Scholl comes to us from the reputable Boston Children’s Hospital, carrying a vast trove of experience, boundless energy, and an infectious positive outlook. Dr. Scholl is a passionate professional with a keen focus on program growth and development. It’s this dedication, coupled with her experience, that aligns seamlessly with our vision for the future of our program. Dr. Scholl will be working closely with Dr. Salazar’s Team, with the shared goal of enhancing our perioperative services for congenital heart disease patients. This collaboration holds the promise of bolstering our commitment to delivering superior patient care.

She will be stepping into the role previously filled by the outstanding Dr. Nischal Gautam, who will be leading the Pediatric Anesthesia Division. We are confident that Dr. Scholl’s leadership will propel our Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesia program to new frontiers in the Greater Houston Area and beyond.
