Clinical Interests

Dr. Tolulope Oso is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical care and Pain Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Oso graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology from The University of Georgia. She then received her Medical Degree from Duke University School of Medicine. After leaving Duke University, Dr. Oso moved to Houston to start her residency in Anesthesiology at UT Health Science Center- Houston where she was elected Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Oso continued her post residency education with pursuing a Interventional and Chronic Pain Fellowship at The MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Oso specializes in Interventional Pain Medicine and medication management of patients with chronic disease. Her areas of specialty include Chronic musculoskeletal pain, cancer pain, sickle cell disease related pain and other forms of chronic-non cancer related pain. Dr. Oso is able to perform procedures targeting pain including:

  • Facet injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablations
  • Stellate, celiac, lumbar sympathetic, superior hypogastric and ganglion impar blocks + neurolysis
  • Transforaminal, interlaminar and caudal epidural steroid injections
  • Joint and muscle injections
  • Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty
  • Spinal cord stimulator implants and trials
  • Abdominal plane blocks
  • Intrathecal drug delivery device implantation

Dr. Oso believes in creating a patient-centered therapeutic pain plan that is multimodal in approach and provides the best treatment to allow the patient to function at their best.

Dr. Oso is a member of the American Society of Interventional pain Physicians (ASIPP) and the American Sociation of Anesthesiology (ASA).
