Welcome to the Department of Anesthesiology – New Team Members for August 2024
We welcome the below new faculty and staff members to the department.
Bo Ryung Lee, MS
Bo Ryung joined the department on July 1st as a Research Assistant to support Dr. Matt DeBerge’s research lab. She received her BS in Biology from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her MS in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.
Juli Bai, PhD
Dr. Bai joined the department on August 1st as an Assistant Professor to support our anesthesiology research group. She completed her PhD at the University of Texas Health in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Bai also previously worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Systems and Anatomy at the University of Texas Health at San Antonio, TX.
Christina Rolandelli, MD
Dr. Rolandelli joined the department on August 1st as an Assistant Professor to support our general anesthesiology group. She completed her MD at UT Health in San Antonio, TX, and her residency at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX.
Mackenzie Jacoby, MD
Dr. Jacoby joined the department on August 5th as an Assistant Professor to support our general anesthesiology and regional anesthesiology groups. She completed her MD at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Her anesthesiology residency and regional anesthesiology fellowship were completed at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX.
Pragati Mundhada
Pragati joined the department on August 12th as a Research Assistant to support Dr. Holger Eltzschig’s research lab. She received her BS in Biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Shonna Gaskin, MD
Dr. Gaskin joined the department on August 19th as an Assistant Professor to support our obstetric anesthesiology group. She completed her MD at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX and her residency at Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She then completed her obstetric anesthesiology fellowship at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX.
William Morris, MD
Dr. Morris joined the department on August 19th as an Assistant Professor to support our cardiovascular anesthesiology group. He completed his MD at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC and his residency at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX. He then completed his cardiovascular anesthesiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Ripon Sarkar, PhD
Dr, Sarkar joined the department on August 19th as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support Dr. Matt DeBerge’s research lab. He received his PhD in Engineering Science from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology in West Bengal, India. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Department of Internal Medicine in the Division of Medical Genetics at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX.
Hannah Lacaste
Hannah joined the department on August 26th as a Research Assistant to support Dr. Wei Cao’s research lab. She received her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, CA. She previously worked as a Research Intern at the University of Houston in Houston, TX.
Evan White, MD
Dr. White joined the department on August 28th as an Assistant Professor to support our general anesthesiology group. He completed his MD at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, CO. His anesthesiology residency and regional anesthesiology fellowship were completed at the McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston, TX.
