Celebrating Dr. Alparslan Turan’s UT System Faculty STARs Award!
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Alparslan Turan, Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at McGovern Medical School, has been selected as a recipient of the UT System Faculty STARs Award, receiving $250,000 in support of his continued excellence in research and academic leadership.
The STARs (Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention) Program is a UT System initiative designed to attract and retain exceptional faculty by providing funding for research equipment, facility renovations, and other infrastructure needs. Funded through the Permanent University Fund Bond proceeds, this award will further strengthen Dr. Turan’s impactful work in anesthesiology and outcomes research.
